Blue Eyed OS (B.E.OS) was an open-source project started in July 2001 by Guillaume Maillard. Its goal was to create an operating system similar in appearance and feel to BeOS, a now-defunct operating system by Be Incorporated.

• Objective: The project aimed to rebuild the BeOS API on top of the Linux kernel and the X Window System.
• Compatibility: It strived for source code compatibility, meaning BeOS programs could be recompiled without modification and then run on Blue Eyed OS.
