In 1999, at the age of 21, MC BK moved from his hometown of Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do to Seoul. He went on to release two more digital singles by 2013. Also in 2011, with Mr. Room9, also a member of the same crew and label, he formed Ugly Picture and released *Ugly Talk*. In 2014, he released the EP *Mom*, co-produced with Roy C, a new producer at Sniper Sound.
According to an appearance on a YouTube channel, the copyright for "BK Love" was not registered until 12 years after its release. At the time the song came out, MC BK was serving in the military. The stage name "MC BK" is derived from his real name.
