The Korean word "대행수" (daehaengsu) has a few different meanings depending on the context:
Historically, in the Joseon Dynasty:

• 大行首 (Daehaengsu): This was a representative position for each of the six major licensed stores (육의전, 六矣廛) in the Joseon Dynasty. They were responsible for managing the store and overseeing its operations as the head. They were chosen by the store members (도원, dowon) through an election. A daehaengsu's responsibilities included giving orders to store merchants, determining rewards and punishments, establishing discipline, and managing the store's communal property.
• 大房 (Daebang): This refers to a meeting of the executives of the "sijeon dojung," which can be equated to a merchants guild/organization. "Daebang" consisted of several roles/people including: "yeongwi," "daehaengsu," "gongwon," "seonsaeng," "ojwa" and "shipjwa". The daehaengsu was effectively the highest position, and was elected by direct vote and having a typical term of two months, but this could vary.

• 代行 (Daehaeng): This is a more general term with a few meanings:
• Acting on behalf of someone: Doing something in place of another person.
• Agency/Agent: Representing someone or a company, or the act of doing so. This can include a variety of services, such as making a contract, making a purchase, processing a transaction, or handling a lawsuit.
• Acting director/Proxy: Someone who temporarily assumes the authority or duties of another person.
