• Colliding Galaxies: NGC 6050 is not a single galaxy, but two spiral galaxies (PGC 57058 and PGC 57053) in the process of merging. They are also designated as NGC 6050 and IC 1179 and are linked by their swirling arms.
• Arp 272: This colliding pair is also cataloged as Arp 272, included in the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies.
• Hercules Galaxy Cluster: NGC 6050 is part of the Hercules Galaxy Cluster. This cluster is itself part of the Great Wall of clusters and superclusters, which is the largest known structure in the Universe.
