Gab은 공식적으로 폭력 위협과 범죄 목적의 플랫폼 사용에 대해 무관용 정책을 가지고 있다고 밝히고 있다.[97][198]

그러나 퀸즈 대학교 교수 아마르나트 아마라싱감은 Gab이 극단주의자들이 침투하여, 다른 인기 있는 서비스에서는 금지될 가능성이 높아 접근할 수 없는 청중에게 접근할 수 있는 위치에 있다고 말했다.[65]

Gab은 테러 단체가 웹사이트에서 활동한다는 것을 부인하며, 2019년 7월 ''마더보드''에 보낸 성명에서 "우리는 그들을 원하지 않으며, 그들의 가입을 강력하게 막고, 선을 넘을 때 자주 금지한다"고 밝혔다. 그러나 ''마더보드''는 신나치 테러 단체가 Gab에서 상당한 청중을 대상으로 몇 달 동안 제한 없이 콘텐츠를 게시했다고 썼다. 여기에는 테러 공격, 소수자에 대한 대량 학살, 오프라인 무장 훈련 모집, 백인 우월주의 선전뿐만 아니라, Atomwaffen Division과 관련된 Gab의 다국적 무장 네트워크 회원이 추종자들에게 전력망을 공격하라고 촉구하는 글도 포함되었다. 또한, 동조자들에게 지역 신나치 조직에 가입하여 무슬림 및 유대인 공동체에 대한 폭력을 저지르라고 촉구하는 내용도 게시되었다. 2019년 6월, 두 명의 영국 남성이 Gab에 선전을 게시하여 추종자들에게 해리 왕자를 암살하라고 촉구한 혐의로 테러 혐의로 체포되었다.[65]

3. 3. 중재 정책

Gab은 미국 헌법에 의해 보호받지 않는 콘텐츠를 제외하고는 콘텐츠를 제한하지 않는다고 주장한다.[23] Gab의 콘텐츠 제한에는 불법 행위, 신뢰할 수 있는 폭력 위협, 테러 조장, 음란물, 포르노, 스팸, 무기 또는 마약 판매, 아동 착취, 사칭, 그리고 두ாக்싱(doxing)이 포함된다.[199][200]

4. 회사

Gab은 최고 경영자(CEO) 앤드루 토르바와 최고 기술 책임자(CTO) 에크렘 뷔위카야에 의해 설립되었으며,[1] 2016년 9월 9일에 법인으로 등록되었다.[249] 나중에 웃사브 산두자(Utsav Sanduja)가 최고 운영 책임자(COO)로 합류했다.[17]

"개비(Gabby)"라는 개구리는 2016년부터 2018년까지 갭(Gab)의 로고였으며,[13] 이 로고는 극우가 사용하는 만화 캐릭터인 페페 더 프로그와 비교되었다.[218]
